Parking passes for the first floor of the parking deck are available at the Library and Information Services front desk. These passes are good for one day and can be used to visit any Library resource, including Library Administration located on the fifth floor.

Library and Information Services

As you enter the Government Center at 201 Chestnut Street in Winston-Salem turn left and immediately past the Security Desk is Information Services. Reference desk hours will be from 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday. Library customers with need for information can call either 336-703-3050 or 336-703-3020 or stop by the Government Center to have their questions answered. Nonprofit Resource Center materials and electronic access to the Foundation Center’s funding information databases will be available for public use during Information Services regular hours of operation.

Computer Training Bridge

The Computer Training Bridge is located on the first floor immediately to the left of the Security desk as you enter the building. The Computer Training Bridge is a free, curriculum based, program focused on promoting digital literacy in Forsyth County. We offer classes in English and Spanish ranging from basic to advanced level topics. The Drop In Job Seeker’s Lab is on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 am-12 pm on the First Floor of Forsyth County Government Center in the Library Information Services and Computer Training Bridge Department. This class is designed to help participants with resumes, cover letters, applications and job searching. You can also view classes and register online or call 336-703-3079.

The North Carolina Room

The NC Room is located on the second floor adjacent to the Forsyth County Register of Deeds office. NC Room. A small portion of the most used NC Room collection will be available at the Government Center including newspapers, genealogy resources and computers. Resources stored off-site will be available in 24 hours upon request. Reference desk hours will be from 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday.
