Introduction to the Digitizing Station at Lewisville
Do you have family photos, slides of family gatherings, music or family recordings on audio cassettes, or old documents that you wish were in digital format? You can digitize materials at the Lewisville Branch Library.
Digitization Introductions are on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month at 3 pm with our wonderful volunteer, Merrikay Brown. Call 336-703-2940 to register. Introduction to the Digitization equipment is required before patrons can use the converting equipment in the Digitization Room. The scanner is open for anyone to use.
Once an introduction is completed, patrons may use the equipment on a walk-in basis or call ahead to reserve time. The Digitization Room is free and open to the public. You can book the room online by visiting this link: http://www.forsyth.cc/library/Lewisville/meeting_rooms.aspx or by calling 336-703-2940. All library users have access to equipment that will scan flat documents (such as papers and photographs), slides, as well as equipment that can copy audio cassettes to CDs a format -- a perfect way to preserve old photographs, documents and music.
