Walkertown Afterthoughts Book Club Reads "Interpreter of Maladies"
Thursday, May 10, at 11 am
The Afterthoughts Book Club at Walkertown Branch Library will meet to discuss Jhumpa Lahiri's book, "Interpreter of Maladies". The book won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction and the Hemingway Foundation/PEN Award in the year 2000 and has sold over 15 million copies worldwide. All are welcome to join us for a friendly and interesting discussion! Tea and light refreshments will be served.

“The History of WTOB Radio in the Triad”: Free Public Lecture

WTOB 1380 came to life in 1947 on 710 AM. The station moved to 1380 shortly afterwards and became one of the most innovative and beloved stations in the Southeast. Rag Rug Weaving with John Wald: Free Demonstration
Tuesday, May 16, 10 am
Join us in observing master craftsman, John Wald, as he uses his hand-made loom to weave rag rugs. Mr. Wald will be demonstrating the twining method to weave his rugs. This method involves twisting two separate pieces of material over and around a third piece that is suspended on a frame to hold it in place. Audience participation is welcomed.
