Come to the Walkertown Area Historical Society presentation on the history of the Walkertown Railway and listen to a free lecture presented by a Railroad Historian Dr. Jeff Miller, the President of the Winston-Salem chapter of the National Railway Historical Society, and an author of a book "Winston-Salem Southbound Railway". Forsyth County Public Libraries Closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday

All FCPL branches will be closed Friday (3/30) and Sunday (4/1) in observance of Good Friday and Easter Sunday. We will be open on Saturday (3/31) during our regular Saturday hours.


Central Library Receives Award for Excellence

The Central Library was in good company on Feb. 28, 2018 when it received an award from the Downtown Winston-Salem Partnership for excellence in improving downtown. During the partnership's annual meeting Mayor Allen Joines presented the award to library director Sylvia Sprinkle Hamlin who thanked the community for embracing their 21st century library. The library was commended for its reuse of original steel beams as a framework for a modern design. Other recipients were The Arts for Arts Sake
