HEALTHWISE logo HEALTHWISE Exercise Program





HEALTHWISE is a community exercise program coordinated by the Forsyth County Department of Public Health.

HEALTHWISE is a joint effort between the Winston-Salem Parks and Recreation Department, American Red Cross, YWCA and the Kernersville Senior Enrichment Center.

  • The program is free and open to the public.
  • The target population for this exercise program is older adults or adults who have or are at risk of developing a chronic disease.
  • The classes consist of cardiovascular activity, and strength building with weight and/or exercise bands.
  • The exercise program is held at different locations throughout Forsyth County.

HEALTHWISE Exercise ProgramThe Forsyth County Department of Public Health was awarded an $8000 grant from the Blue Cross Blue Shield of N.C. Foundation to expand the HEALTHWISE exercise program. The money will be used to help establish 5 new sites throughout the County. The new sites will start in 2006.
