Help Improve the Health of Your Community

To identify and respond to the health needs of residents, the Forsyth County Department of Public Health is partnering with a number of local organizations to conduct a Community Health Assessment. The assessment will include a health opinion survey of approximately 280 residents across the county. Starting April 23rd, surveyors will be conducting randomly selected door-to-door surveys to get resident’s opinions on the most pressing health needs in the community.

“Hearing what issues are important to our residents is crucial for this collaborative assessment process,” said Marlon Hunter, Health Director of the Forsyth County Department of Public Health. “The Health Department and our partners will be using this information to help improve the health of our community. We encourage residents who are selected to participate in the survey.”

Public health staff, students, and volunteers will be conducting the surveys in Forsyth County on April 23-26 from 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. To ensure the safety of citizens, surveyors will be wearing name badges. Survey participants will be asked questions about health behaviors, access to healthcare, and emergency preparedness.

The results will be used for developing priorities and action plans for improving services. Community forums will be scheduled in the Fall and a final report will be released in December.
