F.A.I.R. (Feline Assistance Initiatives Response)
The FAIR program is a public/private partnership to address community Feline
issues related to the protection of the public and feline health and welfare throughout
Forsyth County. Assistance is provided through the development of new Initiatives
and methods of Response.
The purpose of the FAIR program is to promote nonlethal methods to reduce the number
of feral and stray cats in Forsyth County. Forgotten Felines of Forsyth will humanely
trap, evaluate, vaccinate, and sterilize by veterinarians feral cats already residing
in Forsyth County. The Forsyth County Department of Animal Control and Forgotten
Felines of Forsyth have combined their efforts, expertise, and experience to offer
an alternative solution related to free roaming cats within the community. Both
parties cooperate in resolving cat issues within the County through coordination
and recognition of each organization's available resources and responsibilities.
