In Memoriam

The Sheriff Office regretfully acknowledges that Kilo, K9 partner and friend of Patrol Deputy Brian Geiger, had to be put down December 31, 2012, following an incurable illness that compromised her immune system. Deputy Geiger acquired Kilo, a female Belgian Malinois, in 2011, when his former K9 retired and Kilo’s previous handler, Sgt. Joel Gilbertson, was promoted. Kilo was a very active narcotics K9 and excelled on her last certification. She served the agency well, participating in numerous searches and seizures that eventually led to arrests and convictions. She also assisted other local agencies with tracking suspects and vehicle searches. The Sheriff’s Office is very grateful for its K9 program and its valuable service to our agency and the community.
