Balloon Lady to pop in at Walkertown Branch

What kinds of amazing things can you make with balloons? The Balloon Lady will delight all ages with whimsical, colorful, inflated shapes when she performs in Walkertown on Tuesday, July 29nd at 3:30 pm.

The Balloon Lady--also known as Donna Pruett--has entertained thousands of children across the state. Besides her award-winning balloon creations, her visit might include music, storytelling, or engaging tricks that appeal to children of all ages. The event is open to the public and free, thanks to funding by Friends of Walkertown Library.

Donna's annual show is a tradition and a favorite among programs that promote and enhance summer reading. All attendees who have been reading (or listening, for younger library users) will receive a ticket as they enter for a raffle of small reading-reward prizes. A door prize of a balloon creation to take home will go to the luckiest of readers. Last summer's enormous red, black, and white balloon box sculpture stayed inflated atop the Walkertown Branch chapter-book shelves for nearly ten months.
