Sergeant Jay Wood Retires

Sergeant Wood began his law enforcement career in 1982 with the Stokes County Sheriff’s Office. He joined the FCSO family as a Deputy Sheriff assigned to the Law Enforcement Detention Center (LEDC) in 1990. Sergeant Wood has served in many areas of law enforcement throughout his career to include Training, Fleet/Procurement, LEDC and Courtroom Security.

Sergeant Wood earned an Advanced Service Award and Detention Officer Certification. He served as a BLET and Taser Instructor for the FCSO. During his career, Sergeant Wood served on the NC Law Officers Association and NC Jail Administrators Association Board of Directors. Sergeant Wood also volunteered his time at a local fire department from 1980-2005.

Sergeant Wood’s knowledge and guidance will be missed and we wish him the best in all future endeavors. Congratulations Sergeant Wood!
