"Animal, Vegetable, Miracle" Book Discussion at Walkertown

For one year the author and her family made a commitment to become locavores---only eating what they could grow and preserve themselves on their own rural Appalachian farm in Virginia and what could be sourced from the local economy. Month by month Kingsolver, her husband Steven, and daughter Camille share the challenges of growing, finding, cooking, and eating locally.

Engaging, sometimes chiding, and often hilarious, each chapter of Animal, Vegetable, Miracle brings to life each season's challenges and victories, not only in the garden abut also at the dining table. The Walkertown Library and On the Same Page invite you to join your friends and neighbors as we all read Animal, Vegetable, Miracle and gain enlightening insight into our country's shifting attitudes toward our food, how we eat, and our agricultural industry.

All are welcome to join us. Light refreshments provided by The Produce Box.
