Morning Tea Book Club at Walkertown Reads "Where’d You Go, Bernadette" by Maria Semple, July 13

July’s Walkertown Library Morning Tea Book Club selection is New York Times Best Seller Where’d You Go, Bernadette by Maria Semple. This eccentric and surprisingly upbeat novel explores the complex life of Bernadette Fox, a highly successful former architect and mother from Seattle who suddenly vanishes.

Semple uses charming humor and wit to explore the complex yet loving mother-daughter relationship between Bernadette and her precocious fifteen-year-old daughter, Bee. Bee narrates the novel as she begins to unwind the mystery of her mother’s disappearance. Through emails, interviews, and other documents, Bee gains new insight into her mother’s crumbling mental health and unhappiness that led to her disappearance.

Where’d You Go, Bernadette will be available at the library for checkout. Tea and light refreshments will be served. All are welcome to join us for a friendly and interesting discussion!

The Morning Tea Book Club will meet on Thursday, July 13 at 11 am.
