Guest speaker comes to the Kernersville Writers Group

Author and editor Chris Roerden is bringing her talents to the Kernersville Writers Group this month as part of Forsyth County Public Library's 2017 On the Same Page program. She's chock-full of advice for all writers, and may even have some suggestions from her longtime friend Margaret Maron. Ms. Roerden will demonstrate how writers of any genre can use elements of mystery writing to make their work stand out. Join us for this fantastic opportunity to get writing advice from a well established local author.

Chris Roerden has edited authors published by St. Martin’s, Tor-Forge, Berkley Prime Crime, Harlequin, Viking, Midnight Ink, and others over a 50-year career. She wrote 11 books, including two to help writers get published: Don’t Murder Your Mystery (Agatha Award) and its all-genre clone Don’t Sabotage Your Submission (Benjamin Franklin Award). Chris was president of MAPA, an early Midwest trade association of commercial and university presses, scholarship chair for Mystery Writers of America, and is a long-time member of Sisters in Crime and Mensa. She taught in three countries and at universities from Maine to Milwaukee. Check out her many published works here.
