Explore the Delicate Craft of Tatting at Southside

Spend a day exploring the delicate art of tatting. In this workshop you'll learn a bit about this history of this style of lace, and get lots of hands-on experience trying the craft out yourself. This workshop is for adults, and all supplies and tools are provided. Light breakfast and lunch will be provided as well.

New Library Web Page

With the best of intentions the Library rolled out a new web page last week that will allow users much easier access to articles, resources and information about the Library. As you probably know by now, there is an influx of digital gremlins wreaking mayhem on our site. We greatly apologize for the less than ideal condition of our page and want to assure you we are working diligently with the County's webteam to correct the problems and restore the site as quickly as possible.

Just a reminder that Summer Reading kicks off Friday June 17th at 6:30 pm at Artivity on the Green, 630 N. Liberty Street in downtown Winston-Salem. Kids, teens and adults are all invited to attend and to sign up for Summer Reading 2016.

Make plans now to join us for our big kick-off of Summer Reading 2016 on Friday, June 17th at 6:30 pm at Artivity on the Green Park, located at 630 N. Liberty Street in downtown Winston-Salem. There will be arts and crafts for the kids, a performance by our staff of children's librarians and special entertainment by Amanda Durnell of Down to Earth Aerials, a Cirque du Soleil style aerialist.

Photos from "We Wear The Mask" Teen Maker Workshops

Recently the Library, in partnership with the Center for Design Innovation, offered two, one-day maker workshops for teens. The workshops blended the art of storytelling with the creative potential of 3D technology and additional maker activities to tell stories through masks.
