Let Someone Else Do Your Taxes

Free tax assistance will be available at many locations throughout Forsyth County. Starting in February, VITA and AARP volunteers will be available to assist senior citizens as well as individuals and families with low to moderate income (generally $52,000 and below) with their income tax returns. Since this service is on a first-come, first-serve basis, you should make plans to arrive early.

Free tax assistance will be available at these library locations and times:

Central Library - 336-703-3020
Tuesdays, Thursdays, & Saturdays
9:00 am – 1:00 pm
Feb. 1 - April 15
Closed February 6th

Malloy Jordan/East Winston Library - 703-2950
10:00 am – 2:00 pm
Feb. 1 - April 12

Clemmons Library - 703-2920
By appointment only.

Kernersville Senior Center (Library basement) - 992-0591
By appointment only.

Rural Hall Library - 703-2970
By appointment only.

Please bring the following:

  • Picture ID
  • W-2 forms and/or 1099s
  • Social Security Cards (or ITIN) for yourself, your spouse, and each dependent to be listed on the tax return
  • A voided check or savings account information for direct deposit of any refund
  • Totals for medical expenses, contributions, etc. (add all receipts prior to meeting)
  • Employer ID (EIN) or SSN of all childcare providers for child care tax credit

Library staff and volunteers are NOT able to provide any tax assistance or advice regarding tax forms or tax returns.
