award-winning story, get an idea for a science project, find a cookbook, read about
Abraham Lincoln or Michael Jordan, or check-out Where the Sidewalk Ends
just one more time? We can help you make the connection. Don't be shy, ask us.

Storytime at the Library
Bring your toddler or preschooler to any branch of Forsyth County Public Library
to enjoy Storytime. Each location offers interesting stories along with other fun
events and activities that make listening, reading and learning fun and enjoyable.
Check with each location for exact times.
Along with our online catalog computers, we have one four early literacy station
and two game computers (made available through a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates
Foundation) that feature educational software, plus four Internet workstations with
a word-processing program. Children 18 months up to 13 years old are eligible to
use the Gates computers for up to 30 minutes per session. You can choose from dozens
of games, interactive stories, and exploratory programs. Learning has never been
so much fun! The four Internet stations are for children 13 and younger and may
be used in 1 hour sessions. To use any of our computers, sign up with the Librarian
at the Children's Room desk.
Summer Reading every
year focuses on a different theme. We have explored bugs, world cultures, and dug
deep into many subjects. Children are invited to participate in programs offered
throughout the summer that promise to entertain, spark creativity, or engage the
mind. Pirates, magicians, kid indie bands and the balloon lady are just some of
the fun performers we have had in the past along with Librarian organized craft,
story and educational programs. Children are encouraged to fill out reading logs
to record all of their reading and turn them in for a Summer Reading Certificate!
