February is Black History Month. This year's theme is Black Education in America. Join us as we present programs throughout the month that focus on this important theme as well as other programs and activities that celebrate and mark the many accomplishments and contributions of African Americans to society.
January’s Morning Tea Book Club selection is "A Parchment of Leaves" by Silas House. The book is available at the library for checkout. Tea and light refreshments will be served.
Medicine Drop-Off Day is Wednesday, January 25th. Come to the Walkertown Branch library between 10 am and 1 pm and turn in your unused or expired medication for safe disposal. The event is sponsored by the Town of Walkertown.
An Evening of Folk Legends and Songs with Author Charlotte Barnes and Folk Musician Rob McHale at Walkertown Branch Library on Tuesday, February 21, 6:30 pm. Join Author Charlotte Barnes for an in depth introduction to the North Carolina Folk Legend Tom Dooley based on 27 years of research and her new non fiction book ‘The Tom Dooley Files‘. North Carolina songwriter Rob McHale will perform a concert featuring songs from his chart topping CD ‘Tom Dooley and Friends’.
Come to a Yoga class on Thursday, January 26th, at the Walkertown Branch Library. First class starts at 3:30 pm, and the second class at 5 pm on the same day. Bring your exercise mat, a small blanket or a beach towel. The instructor is Lisa Kushner.
January and February brings great programs for Adults at Walkertown Branch. Come to the library and enjoy Coloring for Grown-ups, digitize your old videos and music tapes, watch a movie, attend a music concert, create art, solve a crime with a donut, or try a Yoga class. All events at the library are free!
