The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot explores the life, death, and legacy of an African American woman whose cancer cells from 1951 continue to be used for medical research today. My Life in France, a memoir by chef Julia Child, is a love story to the things she cared about the most: France, food, and her husband. Read one or both! A lot of fun events for Kids of all ages are coming to the Walkertown Branch Library this Summer! We promise this Summer will not be boring! Take a Photography workshop, or get involved in planting and tending to the Children's Learning Garden by the library. Watch The Professor Whizzpop Magic Show, or read your favorite book to a therapy dog. Don't miss everyone's favorite Balloon Lady, and read a lot of books too.
