Jury Commission

Purpose

The right to a trial by jury of our fellow citizens is one of our most important rights and is guaranteed by the United States and North Carolina Constitutions. The Jury Commission is responsible for the compilation of jury lists and the selection of jurors for the courts. The jury list shall be filed with the Clerk of Superior Court, together with a statement of source and procedures used to prepare the list.

Members

The Forsyth County Jury Commission is composed of three (3) members, each to serve 2-year terms, per General Statute 9-1, enacted by the 1967 General Assembly. One (1) member is appointed by the Board of Commissioners, one (1) by the Clerk of Superior Court, and one (1) by the Senior Resident Superior Court Judge.
