Coalition for Drug Abuse Prevention

Purpose

The Coalition for Drug Abuse Prevention is a not-for profit organization whose mission is to reduce drug and alcohol problems in the community. The Coalition is comprised of members who work to reduce substance abuse through coordinated and committed efforts to educate the community, identify needs and develop strategies to meet those needs.

Members

The Coalition consists of a number of representatives from community and government agencies involved directly and/or indirectly in solving these problems. It also involves individuals who serve in their capacity as community leaders. The third group consists of community representatives appointed by the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners and the City of Winston-Salem Board of Aldermen.

The Board of County Commissioners appoints nine (9) citizens of Forsyth County to three-year terms. These members should represent the following groups: two (2) from business, two (2) from religion, and five (5) from the community.
