2021 Municipal Election Candidate Filing

Filing Period begins Friday, July 2, 2021 and ends on Friday, July 16, 2021 at Noon.

Candidate filing begins at noon on Friday, July 2, 2021 and closes at noon on Friday, July 16, 2021 for the November 2, 2021 Municipal Elections at the Forsyth County Board of Elections Office. Citizens wishing to run for a municipal office in the following municipalities: Bethania, Clemmons, Kernersville, King, Lewisville, Rural Hall, Tobaccoville, and Walkertown must file their Notices of Candidacy before July 16, 2021 at Noon to be a candidate on the ballot. Candidates may also mail their Notice of Candidacy, we encourage those that would prefer to mail their Notices of Candidacy to use this option during the first part of the filing period to ensure that the notice is received as timely and can be processed. All notices mailed to our office must be notarized and received (not postmarked) prior to Noon, July 16, 2021. COVID-19 requirements for the Forsyth County Government Center - visitors who are vaccinated are no longer required to wear face coverings; visitors who are not vaccinated must wear face coverings at all times at the Forsyth County Government Center. Visitors not vaccinated and cannot or will not use a mask will need to schedule an appointment with our office for the filing process. Social distancing will be enforced. On July 5, the Board of Elections Office will be closed in observance of the Independence Day holiday.
