Join us Monday, Dec. 5 at 5 p.m. for our monthly Family Film. We'll be showing "The Muppet Christmas Carol" produced by Walt Disney Pictures. The Muppets' version of the Dickens holiday classic about a miser who's visited by three ghosts features Kermit the Frog as the penny-pincher's hardworking and loyal employee.(G)

Santa Claus will be visiting the Lewisville Branch of the Forsyth County Public Library virtually all the way from the North Pole on Thursday, Dec. 16 at 10 a.m. Join us for stories, songs, and activities for children on a Christmas holiday theme. Recommended for ages 2 and up.

Gingerbread Contest

Calling all gingerbread architects! Families, teams and individuals can build a gingerbread creation (house, train, library, etc.) for a contest that is coming soon. We will accept photographs of your creations as entries starting Dec. 1 by emailing Mia Jordan at jordanmc@forsyth.cc. Start planning your creation now so you can participate. Art for Well-being

Would you like to dabble in paint and relax at the same time? Join us for a free art class at the Lewisville Branch Library on Thursday, Dec. 2 at 10 - 11:30 a.m. Local artist and occupational therapist Patty Donoghue returns to teach a simple art technique using watercolor and ink. Participants will also learn that the process of creating art promotes well-being and reduces stress, which may be particularly helpful at this time of the year. Limited to 12 adults. Registration required.


MED instead of MEDS - Eating the Mediterranean Way series

Come to our Lunch and Learn series “MED instead of Meds” beginning this holiday season to explore the seven simple steps to eating the Mediterranean Way. This is a six-part weekly series that runs the first three Thursdays in December and follows the first three Thursdays in January. Virginia Lopez of the North Carolina Cooperative Extension will be our presenter. A cooking demonstration by Forsyth County's Chef Floyd Davis will be part of each session.
