New Clemmons Branch Opens

The new Clemmons Branch of the Forsyth County Public Library system officially opened with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, June 17 at 10:30 a.m.. The new branch is located at 6365 James St. in Clemmons, less than a mile from the former location.

The 20,000-square foot branch has spaces devoted to teens and children. The branch also has a large auditorium and smaller multi-purpose room, a makerspace, three small meeting rooms, a quiet reading room and a sunny courtyard.

The Clemmons Branch is the final library-related construction project that was made possible by the 2010 passing of a $40 million bond. The library system has maintained a presence in Clemmons since 1964. Library Director Brian Hart said that the branch is now welcoming a second generation of Clemmons customers.

"I hope all of you will make the Clemmons Branch part of your family—that you’ll visit often and that you’ll always feel welcome," Hart told the crowd.
