Music & Movement To Resume June 7th at Southside

Bring your children ages 0 to 5 or 6 to Music & Movement in Southside's auditorium from June 7th through July 26th on Thursdays at 11 am. Music & Movement enhances speech skills, social skills, and music skills in a relaxed, developmentally appropriate setting.

At Southside, we enjoy songs and rhymes that let us stretch, wiggle, and free-style dance. We play with rhythm instruments, scarves, and a colorful parachute. We learn a variety of songs that keep us moving, from running in place to marching or imitating a train in circles around the room. Caregivers are encouraged to play and sing along or just sit closeby, helping keep the beat.

From May 17 - 31, Music & Movement at Southside takes a three-week hiatus until June 7th. Then, please join us for eight straight weeks of musical fun during June and July.

Southside's calendar of May and June Youth Programs is now available to help build excitement for Summer Reading and library-going even before the school year ends. To go paperless, a pdf of the calendar can be emailed to you. Contact Youth Services Librarian Margaret Adam at adammt@forsyth.cc with questions about youth programs or to request summer calendars. Keep in mind that Ms. Margaret welcomes your feedback and especially likes to know which songs and rhymes are your family’s favorites.
