The Nature Education Science Team or NEST 4-H Club won the 9-12 year old Junior competition at the NC 4-H Wildlife Habitat Education Program (WHEP) Contest held at Mountain Island State Forest.

Three Forsyth County 4-H Members participated in the inaugural "What Trees Mean to Me" video contest hosted by the North Carolina Urban Forest Council. Alex Arrowood's video received the most online votes to win a $200 prize and North Carolina Urban Forestry Council bag and t-shirt.
