Banning Books Silences Stories
Lewisville Branch
September 22-28
Defend your right to read! Speak out against censorship by celebrating books that people have tried to ban from libraries. These books will be on display at the Lewisville Branch Library, so come and pick one up!
Participate in the Dear Banned Author Letter-Writing Campaign by writing a postcard to your favorite author of banned or challenged books. Let them know what their writings have meant to you. The Lewisville Branch Library will provide postcards, stamps, and the addresses of 43 authors to choose from. Dear Banned Author is a letter-writing campaign hosted by the American Library Association’s Office for Intellectual Freedom.
