Synopsis and Discussion

Ozone levels have risen into the low to middle Code YELLOW range across much of the Triad this afternoon, but a backdoor frontal boundary will settle over the central portion of the state later this evening and remained stalled through the weekend. A series of disturbances are expected to move through the Triad periodically Saturday and Sunday, providing light to moderate precipitation each say to lower AQI into the middle Code GREEN range. A temporary break in precipitation is expected later Sunday afternoon, but chances of rain rise again on Monday as another upper level disturbance approaches from the west and should continue to keep air quality levels Code GREEN into Tuesday morning.
