Summer Reading is really warming up as we head into the second week! The program bench is deep for the week of June 27 - July 2 with about 20 special programs beyond our regular storytimes and book clubs!

Recently the Library, in partnership with the Center for Design Innovation, offered two, one-day maker workshops for teens. The workshops blended the art of storytelling with the creative potential of 3D technology and additional maker activities to tell stories through masks.
Eight year old Miseal Garcia is a kid in a candy shop as he takes in the new look of the children’s area at the Carver School Road Branch Library. Miseal quickly zeros in on an interactive children’s computer where he finds La Casa de Dora, one of his favorite games. It’s “game on” as he leans forward peering intently into the monitor, the rhythmic click, click of the mouse punctuating the air as he plays.
The Forsyth County public Library would like to recognize our very own staff member, Molly Rawls who was the recipient of the Archie K. Davis award last fall. The award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to regional and cultural history.
As construction ramps up at Central Library you can now keep up with all the work that goes on with a 24 hour a day construction web cam. Enjoy archived photos as well as time lapse views of all the exterior work that goes into transforming Central into a brand new library.
