Prior to and during the month of July, Lieutenant McKaig was tasked with formulating a plan to conduct an Evacuation drill for the Hall of Justice. This task of itself was an arduous one. Lieutenant McKaig took on this assignment with motivation, determination and zeal. He methodically reached out to many entities that were needed to accomplish the objective that he was given. He took the lead in coordinating meetings, researching emergency action plans, facilitating classes to educate those involved on the seriousness and the need for this drill to take place.

Because of Lieutenant McKaig's efforts, an Evacuation drill was conducted involving the Winston-Salem Fire and Police, the Forsyth County Risk Management Section, Forsyth County Buildings Manger and Staff and Lankford Security Agency. This drill proved invaluable in the unveiling of areas of concern regarding safety and security for all of those working in the Building. Lieutenant McKaig's relentless efforts and concern for his staff, peers and those who frequent the Hall of Justice is noticed in his work ethic and daily activities.
