An Assistant District Attorney contacted the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office to request a basic self-defense class for the female personnel of the District Attorney’s Office. Due to her qualifications and desire to share her training and knowledge wherever needed, Investigator Joyner was asked to provide instruction to the group. Investigator Joyner utilized her own time to create a tailored curriculum that would most benefit the female personnel of the District Attorney’s Office. Investigator Joyner taught the class on August 30, 2018, working with the participants to ensure they not only understood each technique that was demonstrated but also why the technique was effective. She adjusted her schedule to ensure ample time was allotted for discussion and to answer further questions from the participants after the class. Investigator Joyner is the epitome of what the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office stands for as she gave of her time and talents to help others stay safe.
