On August 27, 2020, a physician was in our facility conducting evaluations of some of our residents, one of which refused to go and speak with her due to his mental illness. Sergeant Lewthwaite escorted the physician to the resident’s cell so she could talk to him there. Sergeant Lewthwaite helped dress and then escorted the resident to the multi-purpose room so that the physician was able to conduct her evaluation. The physician was so impressed with Sergeant Lewthwaite’s professionalism that she wrote an e-mail to the Captain expressing how professional Sergeant Lewthwaite was during her visit to the Forsyth County Law Enforcement Detention Center.
