Crime Analyst Ms. Del Aguila Vienrich has been selected as Civilian Staff Member of the Month for February. The Criminal Investigations Section receives numerous incident and supplemental reports daily. Ms. Del Aguila Vienrich is diligent in reviewing these reports looking for various types of information. She types supplements and provides Investigators and Deputies with actionable leads crucial to their cases. Her efforts and input have become invaluable to the Criminal Investigations Section (CIS). Ms. Del Aguila Vienrich has been instrumental in assisting CIS with translating interviews and various conversations in Spanish. This assistance not only aids in prosecuting cases but also helps non-English speaking victims, especially in instances of domestic violence, feel more comfortable and welcomed at the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office. These individuals are understandably frightened by their circumstances in a foreign country and community where they do not comprehend the language or understand criminal justice and healthcare practices. Ms. Del Aguila Vienrich’s demeanor puts Spanish-speaking victims at ease, helping them understand that law enforcement is there to support them—an especially significant gesture considering some victims come from countries where the police cannot be trusted. Recently, Ms. Del Aguila Vienrich assisted with a 4-hour-long interview for a rape victim whose only contact in North Carolina was her abuser. Ms. Del Aquila Vienrich exhibited remarkable patience while translating during such a sensitive case for an extended period of time.
