Hall of Justice Security Committee Adopts Revised Identification Badge Policy

The mission of the Hall of Justice Security Committee is to ensure that the Forsyth County court facility provides a safe and secure environment for all, and to the extent not inconsistent with safety and security, to preserve the court facility as an open and accessible public building that serves the public as the forum for justice in Forsyth County. The Committee’s principal tasks toward fulfilling this mission include:

  • Assessing current court security conditions and needs.
  • Developing a comprehensive court security program.
  • Implementing the security program.
  • Continuing to assess operation of the program and make adjustments as needed.

The Committee recently assessed the policy surrounding the issuance of Hall of Justice security badges which allow badge holders to bypass weapons screening. The Committee made changes to the policy and adopted the updated version in February. The revised policy will go into effect on June 1, 2013.

Photo ID badges issued prior to March 1, 2013 and Orange badges will no longer be accepted after June 1st. Under the terms of the policy, current badge holders may or may not be eligible to obtain a new badge.

For questions about the policy or to apply for a new photo ID badge, please contact General Services Administration at (336) 703-2200 Monday – Friday (8:00 am – 5:00 pm).
