In Memoriam - FCSO K9 Rita

The Sheriff Office regretfully acknowledges that K9 Rita, loyal partner to Deputy Kevin Craver, had to be put down March 25, 2013, after being diagnosed with an incurable and terminal illness. Deputy Craver and K9 Rita were assigned to Courtroom Security. He acquired K9 Rita, a Belgian Malinois, in 2007. She was an explosives-detection K9, certified through two organizations (IPWDA and NAWD) and was a great asset to the agency on many calls for service. Deputy Craver and K9 Rita were utilized on many special assignments, including visits by the President and Vice-President, the political debates, and other high profile events. The Sheriff’s Office is very grateful for its K9 officers and their partners for the valuable service they render to our agency and the entire community.
