Are You a High School Junior Interested in Agriculture?

North Carolina Farm Bureau annually offers the Institutes for Future Agricultural Leaders (IFAL) at NC State University and NC A&T State University. The program will be offered June 21-26, 2015 but applications are due March 31st. There is not a tuition or registration fee.

The Institute for Future Agriculture Leaders is a week-long program for high school students interested in the agricultural industry. Emphasis is placed on career opportunities, emerging technology, citizenship and leadership development. Students will visit the schools of agriculture, tour research farms and explore university laboratories, visit agribusinesses and participate in leadership development classes.

Rising high school seniors in the upper third of their classes who are interested in agriculture and recommended by their county Farm Bureau are invited to attend IFAL. There is no fee to attend and the event is limited to 40 students per program. Selection is based on GPA, career interest, interest and experience with agriculture. Priority will be given to Farm Bureau members.
