Robin Draws Birds: Art Show in Walkertown

Robin Klar wanted to be an artist but became a physical education teacher, has coached both wrestling and soccer, and is currently involved in fitness. Art, however, has always been a part of his life, being both therapeutic and rewarding.

The artist has worked in various media but pen and ink continues to be his favorite. His passion became a part-time profession when he began taking photographs of amateur wrestlers and turning them into portraits. His personal experience helped him capture the action and his study of Physical Education provided the anatomical understanding. Although he has worked on a wide variety of subjects, he finds great pleasure in drawing and painting birds, flowers and animals.

Robin has received a number of awards, has been featured in several publications, and has recently illustrated a children’s book written by his sister and published by Westbow Press. Robin continually strives to improve it in pursuit of his artistic dreams.

Please come to the Walkertown Branch library to see the art works by Robert E. "Robin" Klar.

The art show will be on display through the end of March 2015.

For all of you interested in birds we'll have an interactive library program All About Woodpeckers with Liz Schmid (Wild Birds International of High Point) on Saturday, April 11, at 3 pm at the Walkertown Branch library.

Please make plans to attend!
