Joyful Sounds: 8th-grade Singers & Sing-along at Walkertown

Joyful Sounds are coming soon to Walkertown Branch Library: a free concert and sing-along on Monday, December 14, starting at 7:30 pm.

The Walkertown Middle School 8th-grade Super Chorus will share holiday songs and other selections, some with choreography. After the half-hour performance, chorus teacher Susan Marshall will accompany a sing-along of seasonal favorites with optional audience participation.

The 8th-grade Super Chorus is selected at the end of 7th grade. The students are chosen based on singing ability and their interest in performing as part of an advanced group. Many have studied singing for two or more years. Besides this public performance, they also sing at retirement and nursing homes.

And this Super Chorus does more than just sing. This fall, they assisted with Music Cares for Kids, Walkertown Music Department's service effort to support Operation Christmas Child. The students helped assemble and donate 45 shoeboxes.

Free and open to the public, Joyful Sounds await all ages. Please come support these talented young singers. We hope by listening or perhaps lending your own joyful voice, the evening will add a unique musical touch to your holidays.

Monday, December 14th, 7:30 - 8:30 pm
