NOTICE OF PUBLIC INFORMATION SESSION AND TELEPHONE COMMENTS ****PUBLIC NOTICE****
The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) is scheduled for an on-site assessment as part of a program to achieve accreditation by verifying it meets professional standards. Administered by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA), the accreditation program requires agencies to comply with state-of-the-art standards in four basic areas: policy and procedures, administration, operations, and support services.
As a part of the on-site assessment, agency employees and members of the community are invited to offer comments at a public information session to be held on March 30th, 2016 beginning at 6:00 pm and lasting until all present have had an opportunity to speak. The session will be conducted in the Press Room, Forsyth County Public Safety Center, 301 North Church Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27101. Comments will be taken by the CALEA assessment team.
Agency employees and the public are also invited to offer comments by calling the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office at (336) 917-7466 between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30th. Comments will be taken by the CALEA Assessment Team.
Telephone comments as well as appearances at the public information sessions are limited to ten (10) minutes and must address the agency’s ability to comply with CALEA standards. A copy of the CALEA standards manual is available at the FCSO Professional Standards Division Accreditation Office. Contact Christina Cooley Howell, Sheriff’s Accreditation Specialist at (336) 917-7405 to schedule an appointment to review the manual.
Anyone wishing to submit written comments about the agency’s ability to comply with the standards for accreditation may send them to the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement, Inc. (CALEA), 13575 Heathcote Boulevard, Suite 320, Gainesville, VA 20155-6660 or email email@example.com.
