This month's Reading Challenge is an area of reading that can be difficult for many people -- poetry. April is National Poetry Month, a time to increase awareness and appreciation of poetry. Remember, poetry can be found in many forms and works, from music lyrics to a novel in verse. I encourage you to find some work of poetry that speaks to you and read it this month. Langston Hughes, Robert Frost, or Pablo Neruda are all popular choices. If you prefer more contemporary poets try something by Elizabeth Acevedo, Claudia Rankine, or Nathaniel Mackey.
I hope you accept the FCPL Reading Challenge and encourage your family and friends to try it too. Please let me know how it goes and if you get a chance, send me an email (fcpl.eg.requests@gmail.com) with the poem you read.
Happy Reading! Lara Luck, Collection Development Supervisor
