Paintings by B. Tysor Art Exhibit

Betty was born in Siler City, NC, eighty-nine years ago. She married Ralph Tysor at the age of eighteen and lived in several places including Washington state and Charlotte. Ralph and Betty had two children, Gale and Greg, before settling in Kernersville for forty years.

During her time in Kernersville, Betty owned a furniture manufacturing company called Salem Square, which made 18th-century mahogany tables. After her beloved husband died, Betty moved to Lewisville to be near her daughter and three grandchildren.

Betty started painting five years ago. She is an avid reader, enjoys gardening, and singing in the Shallowford Presbyterian choir, but her true love is painting. “When I moved to Lewisville, I had several hobbies to keep me busy, but I still wanted a new challenge. I decided to go to the Lewisville Library and check out some books on painting, and from there my love of painting began," stated Betty. Betty decided to have her first art exhibit at the Lewisville Branch, where it all began, in the fall of 2019. She was astounded that she sold 11 paintings during that exhibit.

Betty's next art exhibit will be showcased at the Lewisville Branch during the months of January and February 2022. Please stop by and take a peek at her extraordinary talent.
