Jazz Classique will perform their unique blend of classical and jazz in a Christmas concert at Walkertown Branch Library on Saturday, Dec. 14 at 1 p.m. Musical selections will include classical works by composers such as Bach, Heinichen and Poulenc as well as traditional Christmas standards.
Jazz Classique is a classical chamber music ensemble inspired by modern jazz quartets of the 1960s. Their repertoire spans four hundred years of works by composers including Bach, Handel, Vivaldi, Corelli, Chopin, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert and more. Jazz Classique successfully blends 18th century textures and techniques with elements of blues and jazz improvisation to entertain both classical and jazz audiences.
Musicians include John Mochnick on piano, Matt Kendrick on bass, John Wilson on drums and Roberto Orihuela on vibraphone.
