REVISED NOTICE OF THE FORSYTH COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS’ MEETINGS AND BRIEFINGS

NOTICE is hereby given that the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners (Board) will conduct the following Meetings and Briefing Sessions remotely.

1. On Tuesday, February 23, 2021, the Board will hold a Special Meeting at 2:00 p.m. in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room on the fifth floor of the Forsyth County Government Center, 201 North Chestnut Street, Winston-Salem, N.C. This Meeting was originally scheduled for Thursday, February 18, 2021, but was postponed due to inclement weather. The Board will address all agenda items originally scheduled for the February 18 Meeting.

The Board will hold a Briefing Session following its Meeting at 2:00 p.m. in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room on the fifth floor of the Forsyth County Government Center, 201 North Chestnut Street, Winston-Salem, N.C.

There will be no meeting place where members of the public can be physically present. The Meeting will be broadcast live at 2:00 p.m. on local cable channel WSTV 13-The Government Channel, http://winstonsalem.granicus.com/MediaPlayer.php?publish_id=29 and https://vimeo.com/forsythcountync.

The Meeting will include a public session during which members of the public may speak. If you wish to speak, please call 336-422-1200 at 1:45 p.m. on the day of the meeting. You will be placed on hold, and you will be recognized to speak during the public session in the order your call was received.

2. On Thursday, February 25, 2021, the Board will hold a Winter Work Session at 9:00 a.m. in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room on the fifth floor of the Forsyth County Government Center, 201 North Chestnut Street, Winston-Salem, N.C.

There will be no meeting place where members of the public can be physically present. The Meeting will be broadcast live at 2:00 p.m. on local cable channel WSTV 13-The Government Channel, http://winstonsalem.granicus.com/MediaPlayer.php?publish_id=29 and https://vimeo.com/forsythcountync.

3. On Thursday, February 25, 2021, the Board will hold a Special Meeting at 2:00 p.m. in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room on the fifth floor of the Forsyth County Government Center, 201 North Chestnut Street, Winston-Salem, N.C., to hold public hearingsupon bond orders authorizing the issuance of General Obligation Refunding Bonds, General Obligation School Bonds, General Obligation Community College Bonds, General Obligation Public Facilities Bonds and General Obligation Parks & Recreation Bonds.

All persons interested in the proposed public hearings are invited by the Board of Commissioners to present their views by submitting a written comment to sloopam@forsyth.cc by Friday, February 26, 2021 at 4:00 p.m.

4. On Monday, March 1, 2021, the Board will hold a Special Meeting at 2:00 p.m. in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room on the fifth floor of the Forsyth County Government Center, 201 North Chestnut Street, Winston-Salem, N.C., to vote upon Bond Orders and Resolution entitled:

  • Order Authorizing the Issuance of not to Exceed $23,000,000 General Obligation Refunding Bonds of the County of Forsyth, North Carolina
  • Order Authorizing the Issuance of not to Exceed $8,500,000 General Obligation School Bonds of the County of Forsyth, North Carolina
  • Order Authorizing the Issuance of not to Exceed $2,300,000 General Obligation Community College Bonds of the County of Forsyth, North Carolina
  • Order Authorizing the Issuance of not to Exceed $2,000,000 General Obligation Public Facilities Bonds of the County of Forsyth, North Carolina
  • Order Authorizing the Issuance of not to Exceed $2,000,000 General Obligation Parks and Recreation Bonds of the County of Forsyth, North Carolina

Resolution Of The Board Of Commissioners Of The County Of Forsyth, North Carolina, Providing For The Issuance Of Not To Exceed $14,800,000 General Obligation Public Improvement Bonds, Series 2021a, Not To Exceed $128,116,000 General Obligation Public Improvement Bonds, Series 2021b, And Not To Exceed $23,000,000 General Obligation Refunding Bonds, Series 2021c Of The County Of Forsyth, North Carolina

The Board will hold a Briefing Session following its Special Meeting at 2:00 p.m. in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room on the fifth floor of the Forsyth County Government Center, 201 North Chestnut Street, Winston-Salem, N.C.?

A copy of this notice shall be posted on the bulletin boards located outside the Commissioners’ Meeting Room on the fifth floor and also in the lobby on the first floor of the Forsyth County Government Center. A copy of the notice shall be sent to all who receive notification of any changes in the Commissioners’ regular meeting schedule.
