The Walkertown Branch Library is hosting a display of Kernersville resident Annemarie Johnson's collection of vintage space collectibles in celebration of the 60 year anniversary of Yuri Gagarin becoming the first human to orbit the Earth. Items include books, vintage postcards, commemorative patches, stamps, and other space-themed memorabilia.
““Poyekhali!!” With that one Russian word, meaning “Let’s go!” on April 12, 1961, cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin blasted off from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan to become the first human to travel in space.” (nasa.gov)
