Celebrate Native American Heritage Month

Celebrate Native American Heritage Month with the Forsyth County Public Library.
Native American Heritage Month, which is celebrated in November, celebrates the rich histories, diverse cultures and important contributions of our nation’s original inhabitants and of their descendants.

FORSYTH COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY PROGRAM:

All Forsyth County Public Library programs are free and open to the public.

Native American Genealogy
Tuesday, Nov. 8 at 10 a.m.
Central Library's Makerspace (2nd floor)
Recommended for adults.
This program will cover different NC tribes, how to find resources, and genealogy strategies.

Thursday, Nov. 17 from 5-6 p.m.

Recommended for ages 9-18.
Many Native American groups made pottery. Looking at examples from the Lam Museum of Anthropology’s collections participants will learn about the styles, usages, and pottery making traditions of the Cherokee, Catawba, Hopi, and other Southwest peoples. Participants will make their own air-dry clay pot to take home.
