Emergency Services receives donated CPR training kits

American Heart Assocation (AHA) of the Triad presented 25 CPR Anytime Kits, gifted by Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, to Forsyth County Emergency Services today.

CPR Anytime Kits include a mini-CPR dummy and materials that can teach an adult or child how to use CPR. Hands-only CPR can greatly increase the chances of survival in cardiac arrest.

“We are on a mission to take a nation of bystanders and turn them into lifesavers,” said Jennifer Graziano, senior community impact director with AHA of the Triad.

Forsyth County Emergency Services will be using the kits to teach people CPR, which can help them save a loved one since most cardiac arrests happen at home. They will begin using them immediately for CPR instruction during information sessions that Emergency Services is conducting on how they’ll be using drones to deliver an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) to the scene of cardiac arrents.

“On behalf of Forsyth County Emergency Services, we’re very grateful and very appreciative of the donation of these kits,” said Emergency Services Director Joseph Hundley.

The AED drone information sessions will be held from 6-7 p.m. at the following Forsyth County Public Library branches:

  • Clemmons - July 17
  • Rural Hall- July 24
  • Lewisville- August 1
  • Walkertown- August 8
  • Central- August 14
  • Southside- August 21
