Forsyth County declares State of Emergency ahead of storm
Forsyth County Government has declared a State of Emergency effective Saturday, Jan. 24 at 1 pm, for the winter storm that is forecast for this weekend.
The storm is expected to cause a significant amount of snow and ice that will create hazardous road conditions and may cause downed trees and power lines. The public is urged to not travel during the storm, if possible, and prepare to stay at home for a few days until conditions improve.
The snow and ice may result in delays in first responders being able to respond to calls. Residents are urged to call 911 only in case of emergencies.
