NCDA&CS REQUIRED Pesticide Certification & Training Standards Update
News Story Text: Due to the 2024 EPA update to applicator certification procedures, NCDA&CS has developed a mandatory one-hour video titled “NCDA&CS Required Pesticide Certification & Training Standards Update.” This video is a practical way to receive the mandatory training now required.
- All private and commercial applicators who obtained their certification prior to July 1, 2025 are required to view this video.
- Applicators must watch and submit a verification form before their current certification expires.
- Required video and verification form is available on the NCDA&CS website
- If an applicator misses the deadline to complete this mandatory training, they must take their certification exam(s) regardless of credits obtained
- It is vital that those whose expiring certification credit deadline is 6/30/26 or 9/30/26 view the video and submit the verification form by their respective date
Individuals may choose to watch the video on their own, or they may attend a watch party hosted by N.C. Cooperative Extension. The dates for a training watch party will be announced at a later date. Watching the video is an “All Category” credit (1 hour) which means it will be applied to the following categories: A, B, D, G, H, I, K, L, M, N, O, T, X. Individuals don’t need to specify which category, NCDA will automatically apply it to whichever category from that list that they need it applied to. The only ones it doesn’t apply to are the “specialty” categories like Private V, Soil Fumigation, Commodity Fumigation, and Aerial.
