• Ribbon Cut on New Cooperative Extension Center: Forsyth County celebrated the opening of the new Forsyth Agricultural Park and Cooperative Extension Center in Tobaccoville, featuring walking trails, event space, and expanded programming opportunities.
• Commissioners Approve New Budget: Commissioners adopted a $600 million FY 2026–2027 budget that maintains county services, increases school funding, and continues investment in public safety and community priorities.
• Commissioners Update: Commissioners completed budget deliberations, visited state lawmakers in Raleigh, and announced Commissioner Chair Don Martin’s retirement after nearly 12 years of service.
• Behavioral Health Needs Assessment: Forsyth County is sharing findings from its Behavioral Health Needs and Gap Analysis and inviting residents and stakeholders to participate in upcoming community listening sessions.
• Social Services at Community Court Services: Social Services now offers walk-in Medicaid and Food & Nutrition Services assistance through Community Court Services at the Government Center.
• Health Fair & Naloxone Training: Health and Human Services is hosting a community resource fair and opioid overdose reversal training at South Fork Community Center.
• Medicaid Expansion Updates: Social Services provided information on upcoming Medicaid Expansion changes and plans continued community outreach ahead of implementation.
• Mass Casualty Training Exercise: Emergency Services partnered with local agencies and Winston-Salem State University to conduct a large-scale emergency response training exercise.
• Share Input on Future Transportation Projects: Residents are encouraged to provide feedback on NCDOT’s upcoming transportation improvement plans through a public survey and community meeting.
