Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) benefit work requirements are changing for recipients nationwide.
Requirements for working 80 hours a month will now include:
Work requirement is 80 hours per month of activities that can include paid employment but also job training and school attendance.
FNS recipients qualify for free job training opportunities. In Forsyth County, this qualifies recipients for several local programs with degrees or certifications towards in demand careers:
Forsyth Technical Community College- Trade, certificate or degree programs aligned with job readiness
Second Harvest Food Bank’s Culinary Arts Training Program- Career-focused training in food service and culinary skills
Goodwill Workforce Programs- Certifications in high demand fields such as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Truck Driving, HVAC and Plumbing
