Real Talk: A Safe Space to Discuss Mental Health & Substance Use
On December 8, 2025, please join Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools and Forsyth County Behavioral Health Services for Real Talk: A Safe Space to Discuss Mental Health & Substance Use, a joint event to share health resources, information, and openly discuss mental health and substance use in our community.
We invite parents, caretakers, students, and youth to join us starting 5:30 p.m. at the Career Center High School (910 Highland Court, Winston Salem, NC 27101) to browse a resource fair and have dinner until 6:30 p.m. From 6:30-7:30pm, caretakers and youth will participate in separate sessions about youth substance use, mental health, and ways to discuss drugs and mental health with kids. Youth can participate in an interactive, anonymous Q&A and hear from Forsyth County leaders in youth substance use prevention. With WSFCS and County leadership, parents and caretakers can learn ways to support their kids through substance use and mental health challenges.
This event is optimal for 8-12th graders and free to all Forsyth County residents. We hope you will join us and help spread the word! You can register for the event here.
